An addressable manual call point operating from a glass element that is pushed in. It takes an independent address on the loop through a rotary decade switch at the rear of the housing, so it appears on the panel display with its exact location the moment it is operated. Its most useful practical feature is the specialist test key. Inserted from underneath, the key lowers the glass and releases the micro-switch, so the unit receives a full functional test without breaking the glass and without consuming a spare part on every periodic maintenance visit. On a site with dozens of call points that is a real difference in both cost and in whether the testing actually gets done properly. The unit carries an integral indicator that blinks red when the panel polls it and holds steady red in a fire condition, which confirms at a glance that the device is alive on the loop. It can be flush mounted into a European single switch box or surface mounted with a separate plastic box, is rated IP24D, and is available in several colours so its function is immediately distinguishable. A tear-off template is supplied inside the packing box so the cable entry holes can be located accurately before the box is fixed in place. During installation the fixing screws should not be over-tightened, and lubricants, cleaning solvents and petroleum-based products must be kept away from the plastic housing, as these attack the material and can leave it brittle over time.
