Honeywell System Sensor B501AP-IV Addressable Detector Base Ivory

A deep plug-in mounting base for addressable detectors in an ivory finish. This is the standard base that accepts the 500 and 200 series detectors and their variants, and also takes loop-powered sounders, beacons and audio-visual devices, so one base type covers almost every device on the loop. The base provides screw terminals for loop positive and negative and for a remote indicator, accepts conductors from zero point seven five up to two point five square millimetres, and allows cable entry either from the rear or along the surface through side knock-outs. A tamper-resist tab can be engaged so the head cannot be removed without a purpose-made tool, and a break-off address tag is provided for marking the device address during commissioning. One technical point matters during installation: the wire run must be broken at the terminals rather than passed underneath them unbroken. If a continuous conductor is looped under the screws, the contacts are no longer supervised and the panel loses the ability to detect a bad connection at that device, which is exactly the fault a maintenance visit is meant to catch.
