JBL Bar 500MK2 Soundbar

A five-point-one channel soundbar system rated at seven hundred and fifty watts maximum total power, three hundred and ninety watts RMS, split between the bar itself at four hundred and fifty watts maximum and a separate ten-inch wireless subwoofer at three hundred watts maximum. The system uses beam-steering technology to generate a surround field without rear speakers, supported by three-dimensional object-based audio decoding and virtual surround processing. A dedicated dialogue enhancement mode raises voice intelligibility without lifting the level of the rest of the mix, which is the usual failure of a simple volume increase. Automatic room calibration adjusts the response to the dimensions and furnishing of the room in which the bar is installed. The HDMI port with enhanced audio return channel passes 4K video through to the screen with high dynamic range and Dolby Vision support intact. Network streaming is supported through the common wireless protocols, with setup, equalisation and source selection handled from the companion application.
