Teletek TTE-GPRS Communication Module for Eclipse Panels

A network card kit fitted inside DXc range panels to turn a group of separate panels into one interconnected installation. One card is required per panel on the network, so the quantity follows the panel count rather than the loop count. The network is peer to peer, which means every panel is equal and there is no single master that the whole system depends on. That has a direct effect on reliability, because one panel being taken out of service for maintenance or lost to a local fault does not remove supervision from the rest of the site. On a compound of several buildings this is usually the deciding argument for networking panels rather than fitting one very large panel with long loop runs back to a single location. Zones and keyboard control are shared across the network, so events occurring anywhere on the system can be seen and operational commands such as silence and reset can be issued from any panel. This suits sites where staff presence moves between buildings during the day and evening. KIC supplies, installs and maintains it as part of the fire alarm systems we deliver across Egypt.

A serial communication card that plugs into the control panel to open an optically isolated port for communication with external equipment. It is the standard means of getting system data out of the panel and into another system. The most common use is connecting the panel to an event printer, to a building management system, or to fire graphics software that shows the location of an event on a floor plan of the building. That last case is the one that changes how an incident is handled in practice, because it turns a line of text on a panel display into a marked point on a drawing that a security officer understands immediately, without needing to know how the addresses were assigned during commissioning. Connection is by plug-in without any soldering, and the optical isolation protects the panel circuitry from transient voltages arriving from the third-party equipment at the far end of the cable. An RS485 variant of the same card family is used instead where a multi-drop peripheral bus or a panel network is required rather than a single point-to-point serial link. KIC supplies, installs and maintains it as part of the fire alarm systems we deliver across Egypt.

An RS232 card specific to the DXc panel range. Its function is to open a serial port to which an external device can be connected in order to read system events as they happen, rather than relying on someone standing in front of the panel. The two applications most often asked for are connecting the panel to a building management system that gathers HVAC, power and alarm status into a single operator interface, or connecting it to fire graphics software that displays the exact device in alarm directly on a floor plan. Both turn the panel from an isolated piece of equipment into part of the wider monitoring picture of the facility. On larger sites that run a central control room this card is the meeting point between the fire system and everything else in the building, so it is normally specified at design stage rather than added afterwards. Adding it later is possible because it is a plug-in card, but the cable route to the control room and the integration work on the receiving system are the parts that cost time. KIC supplies, installs and maintains it as part of the fire alarm systems we deliver across Egypt.

A plug-in loop driver card fitted inside a multi-protocol control panel to give it one additional detection loop. This is the component that actually determines which device family will communicate with the panel on that loop, so the card selection and the detector selection have to be made together at design stage. The card provides a single loop that can be wired either as a Class A closed loop or as a Class B open spur, and it supports optical and thermal detectors, monitor modules, control modules, isolator modules and conventional zone interface modules all on the same circuit. The 460 mA current rating allows a fuller device population than the lower-rated variant of the same card, which matters when a loop is carrying a large number of loop-powered sounders and beacons alongside the detectors. A practically useful feature is double address detection. If two devices are accidentally set to the same address during commissioning, the panel reports it instead of leaving a silent gap in the coverage. The loop voltage jumper must be set to the correct position for the installed driver type before power is applied. KIC supplies, installs and maintains it as part of the fire alarm systems we deliver across Egypt.
