Addressable panels are built on a modular architecture, and plug-in cards are how that architecture grows. Rather than replacing an entire panel when a site expands, a card is added inside the existing enclosure to drive an additional detection loop or to open up a new communication port.
The cards fall into two main groups. Loop driver cards determine which field-device protocol the panel speaks and supply the loop current, supporting either closed-loop or open-spur wiring with double-address detection. Serial and network communication cards connect the panel to remote display units, to building management systems and graphics software, or to other panels in a peer-to-peer network where zone information and keyboard control are shared between nodes.
This category also includes external battery enclosures that house higher-capacity standby batteries to extend autonomy during a mains failure. KIC supplies, installs and configures these components as part of the fire alarm work we carry out across Egypt.
