An addressable photoelectric smoke detector, the most widely used detector type in fire alarm systems. It works by measuring light scattered inside a sensing chamber when smoke particles enter it, which makes it responsive to the slow smouldering fires that produce visible smoke long before they produce significant heat. What distinguishes this model is a redesigned sensing chamber that reduces sensitivity drift caused by settling dust, and reduces unwanted alarms caused by insect and small debris ingress. In Egyptian conditions that is the first practical problem on most sites, particularly in open premises and hot dusty areas where detectors are otherwise cleaned or replaced far more often than they should be. Smoothing filters and embedded algorithms work alongside the chamber to separate a genuine developing signal from a transient disturbance. The detector carries two integral red indicator LEDs giving full three hundred and sixty degree visibility, supports a remote indicator output for use above false ceilings, and fits the standard base with a simple push and twist action. KIC supplies, installs and maintains it as part of the fire alarm systems we deliver across Egypt.
